Brownlee Reservoir when no event is running
Brownlee Reservoir covers about 13,880 acres by the BLM/NHD outline, in Baker County and Malheur County. Only about 58% of that outline lies inside Oregon; the rest is across the state line. Land around the shore is managed by Baker County, Bureau of Land Management and Idaho Power.
ODFW habitat mapping lists black crappie, carp, channel catfish, chiselmouth, flathead catfish and largemouth bass here. The OSMB access list shows 7 launchs on this water. An Oregon angling license ($50 resident, $138 nonresident for 2026) covers anglers 12 and older; salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and halibut go on a Combined Angling Tag ($69 resident). Brownlee Reservoir is shared with Idaho, and the 2026 regulations print this for it: License of either state is valid in the Snake River when angling from a floating device. However, when fishing tributaries, sloughs or from sloughs or from lands within either state, the angler must be licensed by the state where the waters (or land) are located.
BLM Oregon hydrography lake outlines (NHD), summed by GNIS name (layer), read November 2, 2026.; ODFW Fish Habitat Distribution layers (ODFW ArcGIS), read November 2, 2026; a mapped species is habitat use ODFW records, not a catch report.; Oregon State Marine Board Boating Access Sites layer (OSMB ArcGIS), read November 2, 2026; status as OSMB publishes it.
