Answers

Salmon and steelhead paperwork, answered

How many salmon and steelhead may I keep in a year?

Twenty adult salmon or steelhead in aggregate on one Combined Angling Tag, as the zone rows print.

Does a child need the Combined Angling Tag?

Yes; the tag is needed to fish for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon or halibut at any age; youth and juvenile versions are on the fee page.

What is the Hatchery Harvest Tag?

An extra tag for hatchery fish once the Combined Angling Tag is full.

When must a fish be recorded?

Adult wild salmon or steelhead go on the tag at once; the tag lines above spell out the hatchery rules.

What counts as a jack salmon?

The booklet sets jack lengths by zone; jacks have their own daily limit in each zone row.

Is wild coho open?

Only where an exception or an in-season rule opens it; the zone rows say wild salmon limits are set each year.

What does the Rogue-South Coast validation cover?

Steelhead fishing in the Rogue and South Coast area; $4 as printed.

Where are ocean salmon seasons?

In the ocean table above, by area, as ODFW printed the 2026 dates.
