Mt. Shasta Hatchery supplies the majority of eggs for CDFW trout hatcheries, upwards of 30 million eggs a year. Fall-run Chinook Salmon are raised at five major Central Valley hatcheries which release more than 32 million smolts each year. Kokanee (non-native): land locked Sockeye Salmon planted as fingerlings in upwards of 23 lakes.
