“Circumglobal: Found in all oceans except the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea. In the eastern Pacific Ocean, they are found from southeastern Alaska to southern Baja California, Mexico and from Colombia to Chile.”

“Demersal, living in marine to brackish waters from the surface to 570 meters (1,870 feet). Smaller individuals reside in shallow waters over continental shelves including bays and estuaries, while larger individuals move into deeper waters offshore and deep channels in bays.”
